📋
Permit-Required Testing
City and county inspectors require a gas pressure test before authorizing gas service for new construction, major renovations, and after gas line repairs.
🏠
After Storm or Damage
Following a hurricane, flood, vehicle impact, or other event that may have damaged gas lines, a pressure test is required to restore gas service.
🔄
After Utility Disconnection
If gas service was disconnected for non-payment, renovation, or extended vacancy, most utilities require a plumber-certified pressure test before reconnection.
⚙️
The Testing Process
We isolate the gas system, pressurize it to the required test pressure, and monitor for pressure loss over the required hold time. Takes 30–90 minutes typically.
📄
Signed Documentation
You receive a signed pressure test report detailing the test pressure, hold time, pass/fail result, and our license number for submission to the utility or inspector.
🔧
Failed Test Repair
If a test reveals a leak, we locate and repair it on the spot in most cases — turning a failed test into a completed job in a single visit.

FAQ

common Questions

How long does a gas pressure test take?

Most residential gas pressure tests take 30–90 minutes including setup, pressurization, hold time, and documentation. If repairs are needed, add time for the repair and re-test.

What happens if my gas system fails the pressure test?

A failed test means there is a detectable leak somewhere in the system. We locate it using electronic detection equipment and repair it. In most cases we can repair and re-test in the same visit.

Do I need to be home for the test?

Yes — we need access to your gas shutoffs, appliances, and meter. A responsible adult must be present.

What documentation do you provide?

A signed, dated pressure test report on our company letterhead including: test pressure, hold time, pass/fail result, plumber license number, and our seal. This is the documentation utilities and inspectors require.
